The Department of Languages in Akatsi College of education was created to equip all student teachers with the English Language and the Ghanaian Languages. Student teachers who are admitted take a number of Language courses from the department. The department runs two units which are the English Language unit and the Ghanaian languages unit. The courses offered by the department equip the student teachers with the four language skills.
The department has Seven dedicated lecturers. Five of them teach English Language and Literacy courses, one teaches Ewe and another one teaches Twi.
The department, under the supervision of the Head of Department, works hard to support the vision, mission and core values of the college.
