Akatsi College of Education was established as Akatsi Training College on 1st October, 1963. It
was however officially opened on 25th October,1963 with 42 male students. Unfortunately, over the 53 years existence of students in the college there has not been any written document to regulate the day to day
administration of the Students’ Representative Council. Efforts were made by previous S.R.C
administrations to draft a constitution for the S.R.C but were not far -reaching.
In view of this, a nine-member constitution drafting committee was formed on 6th November, 2015
at the first General Assembly of the 2015/2016 S.R.C. administration to draft the constitution to regulate the day-to-day administration of the S.R.C.
The following members constituted the committee;

  1. Gokah Saviour (Chairman)2. Kuade Believer Frank (Secretary)3. Attiah Lahari Saviour (Member)4. Kukubor Moses (Member)5. Abotsi Blessing (Member)

    6. Gbedzo Simon (Member)

    7. Harris Sherylyn (Member)

    8. Amenyo Josephine (Member)

    9. Segbedor Noble Dela. (Member)

However, after the drafted constitution was approved
by the General Assembly, it was not fully
assented to by management of the College as a
working
document for the S.R.C pending some necessary
corrections and inclusions. As a result, the 2016/20217
administration took over and appointed an
eleven (11) member committee to review the drafted
constitution on 30th May, 2017 in
the year of our Lord. The following members constituted the constitution drafting committee:

  1. Ohemeh Ebenezer (committee chairman).
  2. Agboni Nicholas Kelvin (committee Secretary).
  3. Atitsogbui Francis Doe (member)
  4. Sema Benedicta Adjovi. (member)
  5. Ankomah Solomon. (member)
  6. Diku Mawuli (member)
  7. Segbedor Noble Dela (member)
  8. Amenyo Josephine (member)
  9. Hatekah Kennedy (member)
  10. Dzivor Esther. (member)
  11. Kuapah Dzidula Evans. (member)

The constitution is the current working document of the S.R.C day to day administration.
