Akatsi College of Education has initiated a strategic partnership with the University of Environment and Sustainable Development (UESD) to strengthen collaboration in education, research, innovation, and sustainable development.
The engagement brought together representatives of both institutions to explore opportunities for institutional collaboration and knowledge exchange. The partnership is expected to create avenues for joint research, capacity building, academic development, environmental education, and the integration of sustainability principles into teacher education.
A key focus of the collaboration is to promote environmentally responsible education and sustainable development, equipping future teachers with the knowledge, skills, and competencies needed to contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s sustainable development agenda.
The Vice Chancellor of UESD, Prof. Eric Nyarko-Sampson stated that the partnership was timely and represents an important step in strengthening institutional network and creating opportunities for staff and students of Akatsi College of Education to benefit from expertise, research opportunities, professional development, and innovative approaches to sustainability.
The Principal of Akatsi College of Education, Dr. Felix Kwame Kumedzro, on his part, expressed profound gratitude for the opportunity and looks forward to building a productive and lasting relationship with UESD that will contribute to quality teacher education, impactful research, environmental stewardship, and sustainable community development.
