Supported Teaching in School is a unit that represents the hitherto Teaching Practice unit of colleges of education. It has been instituted in response to the transformation of the initial teacher education from a three-year diploma to a four-year degree programme. It involves intensive practical field experience by attaching student teachers to partner schools to be monitored by professionally trained mentors. It is one of the four pillars of the Bachelor of Education programme meant to produce seasoned professional teachers for the basic schools within the country.
